Los Angeles – słynne Miasto Aniołów jest miejscem, gdzie toczy się akcja serialu ''Anioł Ciemności'. Wampir Angel którego gra aktor David Boreanaz wyjechał z Sunnydale szukając spokoju i odpoczynku. Przez całe stulecia dokonywał wielu zbrodni jako Angelus, chce teraz odkupić swoje winy, za te wszystkie zbrodnie, które były właśnie jego udziałem. Ponieważ spadła na niego klątwa za zamordowanie młodej cyganki, jest tzw. wampirem z duszą. Znaczy to, że działa tylko w nocy, bo musi ukrywać się przed słońcem za dnia ale pomimo to jest pogromcą zła. Jego towarzyszem w pokonywaniu zła jest Doyle pół-demon, oraz jego dawna przyjaciółka Cordelia. W serialu znaczącą rolę odgrywa także pani Detektyw Kate. Wszyscy razem postanawiają założyć agencję detektywistyczną o nazwie „Angel'. Celem tej agencji jest wyszukiwanie klientów i rozwiązywanie spraw, dzięki wizjom pół-demona. W sezonie II i III toczy się ostra walka z kancelarią adwokacką Wolfran & Hart. W dalszej części serialu zobaczymy następną serię przygód naszego bohatera.
